Hydro Green Energy (HGE) develops low-impact hydropower at non-powered dams in an cost-competitive fashion. At hydropower sites that have less than 30 feet of head, HGE deploys a “plug-and-play,” low-head hydropower solution that minimizes the civil work and the costly, time consuming and environmentally disruptive installation process of conventional hydropower. 

At its project sites, HGE installs a modular hydropower system designed by the company.  The foundation of HGE’s technology was successfully demonstrated at its hydrokinetic power project in Hastings, MN (FERC P-4306).  With its unique approach to hydropower project development and its cost-competitive technology, HGE will unlock scores of low-head hydropower sites that have been uneconomic to develop over the past several decades.
